Harb: March 8 wants to cancel polls

BEIRUT: MP Butros Harb accused the Hezbollah-led March 8 coalition Tuesday of seeking to cancel the upcoming parliamentary elections because of regional considerations.

BEIRUT: Syria’s Foreign Ministry denied Tuesday aircraft had recently bombed locations in east Lebanon, SANA reported.

BEIRUT: Seven suspects were detained Tuesday over the recent attacks on four Muslim scholars, the state prosecutor told The Daily Star, as Shiite and Sunni religious leaders met to avert further tensions in the country over the affair.
